Published in 2007: Hi. I was reading the study in sciencedaily (july 11, 2007). I think there may be some good research happening in the field. "researchers from the university of granada and hospital carlos iii in madrid, verified that maslinic acid – found in wax from olive skin – inhibits serin-protease" aside from that, olive oil has several great health benefits.

Not enough: That's a far cry from showing that it will be beneficial to people with HIV infection. Lots of things destroy HIV that we can't use for treatment. We already have great drugs that stop viral replication. What we need now is something that rids the body of latent infection. Neither killing the virus nor stopping its replication will do that.
