HIV infection: The acute infection stage of HIV usually begins to be widespread at about fourteen days after exposure. Most people do not experience any symptoms during this phase. But, those that do report a severe flu-like illness. Untreated, in a man, the average length of infection to death is eleven years.But, we do not need to worry about that. With treatment today, the length of life is 53 plus years.
