?Hernia: Another possibiity you have to consider is an abdominal hernia. If the lump comes back when you stand up, it could mean you have a hernia. A abdominal hernia is caused by an abdominal wall defect where intra-abdominal content tries to seep thru the defect. This is more prominent when standing and less visible when on your back.
