What could cause a mass in the left-lower quadrant?

Many possibilities: I do not know where in the left lower abdomen you are describing, or if it internal or external in location. Could be fatty lipoma, hernia, less likely diverticulitis or abscess infection, ovarian growth or cyst, skin abscess or infection, colon tumor, etc.
