ATELECTASIS: When part of the lungs collapse, child will have shortness of breath, tachypnea, cyanosis and chest pain depending on the part of lungs involved.

Pediatric atelectasi: Pediatric atelectasis can have vareying symptoms depending on the size of the collapsed area. Atelectasis means part of th e lung or the whole lung/lobe gets collapsed and air cannot enter that part of the lunf causing less oxygenation fo the blood. It can lead2cough, cyanosis, tachypnea(shortness of breath)/ air hunger, fever. There has to be an underlying probelm 2 cause this.
