Question?: His age is an important factor. Strep throat often causes abdominal pain in children, even ear infections. We worry most about appendicitis in particular w/ right lower quadrant abdominal pain & fever. Plain x-rays aren't generally helpful to diagnose appendicitis. Appendicitis is common in the adolescent age group. If he has significant abdominal pain still he should be reevaluated.
