Usually weeks: With all the pelvic region support structures and normal architecture being stressed and stretched. It is not unusual to have your discomfort.. Unfortunately, you can usually not take medication at this time, so it is important to concentrate on pelvic stabilization exercises. Your ob/gyn should have a list or refer you to a physical therapist as necessary.

Should have already : If you're still having pain after the delivery of your child, than this should be looked into. Sciatic pain from pregnancy usually resolves. However if the pain continues i would recommend having a formal work up which would include physical examination, x-rays and mri.

Pinched Nerve: Sounds like you have a pinched nerve in your back. Can take up to 6 months to go away on its own. I would suggest seeing a pain/spine specialist to evaluate you further to evaluate what level and what can be done to treat you. There are interventional treatments besides medications and surgeries that might reduce or eliminate the pain altogether.
