We do not know yet: We do not know how long it takes for some one who is carrier of hpv infection, to get cancer and how many will get cancer.Men are positive 3 times more than women for hpv infection of oral cavity. For oral cancer there are other factors like smoking and tobacco as well. Not all positive for HIV will get cancer.

Unknown: there is no way to determine how long the HPV virus will stay asymptotic. See your dentist every 6 months for oral cancer screenings and your obgyn for Pap smears.
