Antibodies/exam: Your physician may be able to do a test that can identify if you have developed antibodies to the strain of the virus.An ENT may also be able to examine the back of your tongue & throat & identify areas where the germ may have activity. However, once you have it, it can stay forever & not necessarily always be visable.

Oropharyngeal: Cancer increasingly is associated with hpv strains. These are easily transmitted, most commonly by kissing, but likely oro-genital and hand to mouth. Infection is common, cancer is not. I know a biopsy can test for viral genome, I do not think that salivary samples can prove or disprove. There are no serum (blood) tests yet.
