I had a gout attack for the first time and a physician has given me diclofenac and chymotrypsin for it. i can't find if they are relevant to this?

No.: Chymotrypsin is an archaic rx. You need to be on Allopurinol or uloric. Since Colcrys ids so expensive, i give most patients probenicid/colchicine once daily. I would see an expert in rheumatology, but most internists of fps should be able to treat this effectively!

Diclofenac: Is an antiinflammatory and these are used as gout causes inflammation. I have never heard of anyone using chymotrypsin for gout. I have heard of colchicine. You may want to double check on that one.
