Can the cortef (hydrocortisone) steriod for a brain tumor cause me to get osteonecrosis?

Osteoporosis: Steroid therapy for any reason can cause thinning of the bones. This is a serious problem for children with muscular dystrophy, asthma, juvenile arthritis, as well as cancer. Calcium, vitamin d, and sunshine is very important. Bone density measurements can be followed with special DEXA scans.

Maybe: Corticosteroids are known to cause avn (osteo necrosis). The hip is the most common site. Even with this association however, not everyone on steroids gets avn. If you start to have pain while on this treatment notify your doctor.
