Can too much 20% benzocaine (anbesol) harm teeth?

No: The real question is why are you using it. Benzocaine is a topical anesthetic. It will not correct a tooth problem only sometimes mask the discomfort.

No: There have been no studies showing ill effects of topical anesthetic on dental hard tissues, but there is evidence that too much ingested or absorbed topical anesthetic can cause harm to your body especially if you have a family history of methemoglobinemia (a rare genetic disease). Overdose symptoms include uneven heartbeats, seizures.Coma, slowed breathing, or respiratory failure.
