Triploidy: This occurs when the cells & organisms contain three sets of chromosomes instead of the normal two (one from each parent). This occurs due to abnormal cell division, & occurs in some plants & animals such as goldfish. It rarely occurs in humans where they have 69 chromosomes, are stillborn or pregnancy ends up in miscarriage. Cause is egg being fertilized by 2 sperms.
