Use dependent: All opioids can cause euphoria or altered mental status. This is usually more a result of how rapid the medication is absorbed into your system. If you are taking pain medications and experience a euphoria, you should discuss this with your doc. This could lead to abuse and addiction and a medication change would be recommended. If you are not willing to change then you already have a problem.
