Yes: These are highly abused medications. They are fast acting opioid analgesics that hit the reward centers of the brain and are reinforcing. Tolerance to the euphoric effects quickly develop and the user takes more and more in an effort to experience the high. Physiologic dependence is developed over time and the user has to take the drug to no longer get high, but to prevent withdrawal symptoms.
