What is a subtalar fusion like?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Limits painful motio: This is for people with painful arthritis (worn cartilage) below the talus and above the calcaneus. These two joints are cleaned of the remaining bad cartilage and the two bones are squeezed together with screws to lock them tight so they grow together and then they don't hurt. It limits the ability to pronate and supinate the foot.
