Have it checked: Gum bleeding could be caused by gum disease like gingivitis, taking blood thinners, a blood disorder with low clotting factors, hemophilia, and many others. Have your physician check it and see if you need to be tested.

Bleeding gums: Bleeding gums is not normal. Bleeding gums is usually caused when there is gum inflammation present. Gum inflammation can be caused by gingivitis and periodontitis which in turn are caused by accumulation of plaque, tartar and bacterial invasion. Poor oral hygiene, lack of dental cleanings, some systemic conditions and trauma ... Any of these could cause bleeding gums. You should see a dentist.

Absolutely not: Bleeding gums are a sign of inflammation or worse: infection. Several diseases have bleeding gums as a symptom such as leukemia. Please see a dentist as soon as possible.

The most common cause of bleeding gums is gingivitis or periodontal disease, although there are many others, both of dental and medical origin. See a dentist as soon as possible for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
