Blood and Wounds: Blood is filled with goodies that help people heal. Platelets help a wound form a scab and provide that first barrier to prevent open exposure to the environment. Growth factors in the platelets help with the healing process also. Clotting factors in the blood help the blood clot also. Then white blood cells help with fighting infection. The red blood cells continue to supply oxygen to the tissues.
