Vomiting bright red: blood is not a normal thing. You should be evaluated in your local ER for signs of ongoing bleeding. It sounds consistent with what we call a Mallory-Weiss tear (a tear of the junction of the stomach and esophagus), but it needs to be evaluated and possibly treated.
