Do vitamins help wounds heal?

Yes: Vitamin a is required for skin and bone formation, cellular and immune function. Vitamin c is necessary for collagen formation, proper immune function, and as a tissue antioxidant. Vitamin e is the major lipid-soluble antioxidant in the skin; however, the effect of vitamin E on surgical wounds is inconclusive.

Also zinc...: Zinc has also been shown to help with wound healing - especially in older populations whose intake of the mineral is inadequate.

Vitamins and wounds : There is no proof that vitamin supplements help heal wounds. Eating a balanced diet with healthy choices is the best way to get your nutrients.
