Have a painless lump in my lower eyelid in the middle. is quite solid and red on the underside and has been there for a few weeks. hurts if poked

Stye: You have a blocked oil gland, or stye, in your eyelid. Try using heat: get a clean sock filled w dry beans or rice, heated in microwave. Place the hot pack in your bump for 10 minutes twice a day. If it doesn't go down in a week, seek an ophthalmologist's care.

Chalazion: Sounds like a style or chalazion. Apply warm soaks to the affected area several times a day. If does not resolve, see your eye doctor to consider an antibiotic or excision.
