Immunosuppressive : Medications used to prevent your body from rejecting the transplanted organ. Usually in the class of calcineurin inhibitors, anti metabolizes and steroids.

Can vary: Most maintenance anti-rejection medications (those taken daily) included a calcineurin inhibitor: tacrolimus (prograf) or cyclosporin; and an antimetabloite: Mycophenolate Mofetil (mmf, myfortic). Some daily regimens may also include a steroid (prednisone). In rare instances a patient will be on an mtor inhibitor, sirolimus (rapamune) instead of a calcineurin inhibitor.
