A member asked:

What are the treatment options for hypothyriodism?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends/Synthroid: Usually this is treated with synthroid (thyroxine), (thyroxine) but depending on the cause, it might need surgery as in goiter, or if due to something like an autoimmune cause like hashimoto's, it might need synthroid (thyroxine) and more intense monitoring to keep the TSH down. So one has to factor the cause into the treatment plan.
