A member asked:

For someone who is hypothyroid, how do you get treatment to alleviate the symptoms and not just prescribe the standard dose?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Follow TSH: There is no standard dose for treating hypothyroidism. Your dose is determined by the results of your thyroid blood test. Once your TSH is in the correct range (0.4 to 2.0) then you are on the correct dose. Symptoms take time to resolve, even after your thyroid level is normal.
