Good Chance: Ketamine is currently being studied in clinical trials, and there have been some promising results. The clinical approval process takes quite a bit of time, and ketamine will be looked closely to try to be as clear as possible regarding possible risks.

NO!!: Ketamine is an anesthetic. It is definitely never to be used to treat depression!

Unlikely ever: Ketamine is not a particularly good drug for depression and has very strong effects that make normal functioning almost impossible. It is doubtful it will ever be approved as indicated for the treatment of depression.
