Diabetics are at : High risk for coronary aretery disease. They should be treated as though there is coronary artery disease(blockages) even if not documented. That said , blood pressure needs tobe controlled, cholesterol treated aggressively, stop smoking, diet and exercise.

Heart disease and stroke is the no.1 cause of death in diabetic patients. Also, when your kidney failed as a comp of dm, your heart may suffer too increasing the risk of chf.
