Should not: Though it may change speach patterns and they may need to learn how to use the muscles of the tongue more, it should not be a concern. Usually it will free up the tongue and allow them to make the proper pronunciations (s's/t's). You should work with them to help them make the proper sounds now that they can.

No..: Speech is a learned neuromuscular behavioral pattern, and a frenulectomy would not generally impair your ability to execute these previously learned motor activities. Quite the opposite-- it should improve the tongue's range of motion. If there was any pre-existing speech impairment, consultation with a speech pathologist may help you to exploit the benefits of frenulectomy to improve your speech.
