Talk with your doc: There are means for dealing with menopausal symptoms/hot flashes. Soy use is controversial but some antidepressants can help but be careful as some also inhibit tamoxifen metabolism. Effexor/venlefaxine is the most studied and does not do this. There are some patients who have achieved great relief with alternative therapies such as accupuncture.

Which one?: The most common issue w tamoxifen is hot flashes. You can try simple remedies like vitamin e. If these should worsen, Effexor (venlafaxine) has been effective, but is a prescription. I've had fairly good results with acupuncture. Patients have had relief from between 1-2 months with theses treatments. Most hot flash symptoms do improve w time.
