Depends: The time to onset of action of Abilify (aripiprazole) varies based on a number of factors including, among others, the condition being treated, how severe that condition is and how long it has been present. That being said you could begin to notice some effect within 3-7 days and continued improvement over 4-6 weeks.

Varies: It depends upon individual circumstances and adequacy of dose but Abilify (aripiprazole) usually begins to work in the first 1-3 weeks followed by continued improvement in responders. The prescriber should monitor your response and side effects to determine dose increases and adequacy of response if any. If no response, or if not tolerated, then prescriber may consider an alternate medication.

Days to weeks: Don't give up too soon. Keep taking it and let your doctor know how things are going. Unless you are getting worse, keep current dose. Your doctor probably gave you next appointment around the time that you will be able to tell whether current dose should be reconsidered. Effects can be subtle at first. A diary might help you figure out how much better you are.
