Can chewing gum cause migraines or tension headaches?

Migraines: It is possible "if" you have some sensitivity to ingredients in the gum. Also the possibility related to a bite (occlusion) being off and not balanced. Sometimes headaches can be due to (tmj)temporalmandibular joint problems. Try avoiding gum for 2 weeks and see if you still have headaches. Have you discussed this with your medical doctor or dentist? They may want to run tests to diagnose properly.

Yes: Gum chewing can irritate the muscles and cause muscle tension headaches and muscle tension headaches that mimic migraines. True vascular migraines are a different problem.
