A member asked:

Do i have a tension headache if it's in the back and a migraine if it's in the front of my head?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Difficult to tell: Headaches can be difficult to diagnose and treat, but typically tension headaches wrap around the head and neck on both sides. Typically migraines are on one side around the temple, but can occur further back and sometimes occur on both sides. Keep a diary or log, indicating any possible triggers (foods, stress, alcohol, etc) and show that to your doctor. This is very helpful.
