PAIN KILLERS&CAUSE: It depends what is causing the pain and where the pain is located as a general principle you treat the cause of the pain, and depending on what part of body is hurting there are different pain killers used your question can not be answered in 400 words.There are many different kind of pains like headache, bone pain, stomach pain, muscle pain, pain due to different cancers, pain dut to infections etc.
