Depends: Even profound hearing loss can be helped with hearing aids. If it is beyond being aided with a hearing aid... Cochlear implants may be beneficial. When looking at hearing loss another critical factor is not just the decibel loss for pure tones but the ability to discriminate. Some patietns with moderate hearing loss may have very poor discrimination... Not good candidates for hearing aids.
