I have an amnio coming up at 37weeks. how does the test measure lung function? what in the fluid says if they are mature or not?

Several: It measure not function, but the presence of certain chemicals whose presence indicates that mature cells are present. That indicates the vast likelihood that the baby's lung functions would be "mature".
