Mass on imaging?: Generally whatever imaging technology was used to see the mass is the technology that will be used to do the biopsy. If you have a mass on self exam that has not been evaluated with imaging, then imaging is your next step (assuming you have seen your doctor or are going to).

First step: is to see your doc for a clinical evaluation. Next step usually involves imaging with mammography and ultrasound. If a suspicious mass is detected, needle biopsy would be indicated. If a mass with benign features is detected, no follow up or short interval follow up may be indicated.
