Cause unknown: We do not know the cause of cluster headaches. The diagnosis is usually clinical. Usually there is significant nasal congestion or a runny nose associated with increased lacrimation. The headaches can be quite severe and occur in clusters up to eight times a day. Usually multiple attacks are short-lived with excruciating one sided pain is typical.
