Treat the ear: If your facial pain is truly coming from an ear infection you must address the infection first. Please see your ENT specialist for an evaluation and treatment.

ENT: It is possible to have an ear infection causing facial pain. You should go to the ENT to get the ear infection treated and see if the facial pain resolves. If it doesn't, then you should go to the doctors to have an evaluation to determine the cause of your facial pain.

Diagnosis: Make sure it is an ear infection. Many times ear infection misdiagnosed when problem is actually TMJ. If no better with antibiotics, see TMJ expert. Other signs of TMJ are joint clicking, painful chewing and limited opening. Any dentist can be a TMJ expert with the proper training and experience. Most commonly, oral surgeons, prosthodontists, and orofacial pain specialists. Ask for referral
