Anaesthetic: The anaesthetic used whether general or local could cause this temporary condition. However, if it continues i would consult your treating doctor.

Nerve damage?: How long after the wisdom tooth extraction have you had diminished taste? It is normal to have diminished taste for a few hours after the procedure due to the local anesthetic. It is not normal to have diminished taste after the anesthetic wears off. Could be nerve damage to the lingual nerve. Please see the dentist or oral surgeon who did the procedure.
