Can be: There is a hole where the tooth was and it has to fill in. Sometimes food can get trapped there and leads to a bad taste...Follow instructions closely that you were given and if it continues go back to the oral surgeon.

Food Debris: If there is no pain with this taste the it could easily be food particles decomposing. It could also be infection. If the removal was more than 4 days ago then go ahead and gently rinse the area to remove the debris and the taste should go away. If that doesn't help then see the doctor that removed the tooth to check for infection.
