Asthma or COPD: Advair is a combination of an inhaled steroid and a long acting bronchodilator. It is used in asthma when an inhaled steroid alone is not adequate to control symptoms. The combination is usually more effective tha doubling inhaled steroids. It is also used in copd. The long acting bronchodilator part can cause heart racing.
