Yes : A knee scooter or otherwise known as a "roll-a-bout" can be used to help ambulate. Get a prescription from your doctor.

Crutch replacement : This is considered a crutch replacement device and works for a lot of patients. Some don't find them easy to maneuver or comfortable and i let my patients decide.

There are: A few devices these days one can use if unable to use crutches. There is a device called a roll-a-bout which sounds like your knee scooter. You may also want to check out freedomlegbrace.Com. The goal is in all cases o be not weight bearing on the foot.
