A member asked:

What is happening in the brain when someone has a seizure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Dis-inhibition: The brain is extremely active with abundant electrical activity all the time. It is usually kept well controlled, and abnormal activity is carefully inhibited. When this inhibition is disrupted a seizure may occur. Many different things can cause a disruption of this inhibition.
