Hold the drug: It is worth holding the drug to make sure if the rash is actually related and will resolve. If it is actually due to allopurinol, there are no tricks to fix it. Accordingly, it may be worth a trial of uloric. It is a new drug that is more effective than allopurinol, can be used in kidney disease, and may be better tolerated. However, it is more expensive. Insurance should pay for as a second tier.
