A member asked:

Been suffering from gout in the hand for 6 weeks, meloxicam 15 mg, allopurinol 300 mg, colchicine 1.2 mg. no relief-30 days out for rheumatologist?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See details: Gout is relatively uncommon in the hand so I would question the diagnosis. The usual attack of gout will resolve after 1-2 weeks even in not treated. Ask your doctor to order additional studies and to try a tapering dose of prednisone.
