Sometimes: Old-fashioned unplugged playing and reading are kinds of meditation for kids. Might be hard for some kids to sit quietly and "clear mind" but playing, yoga, tai chi, dancing could all be meditative. Maybe meditation or making pause in our day would be easier for adults if we did more kid type meditation instead.

Many kinds: There are meditative activities for both kids and adults -- like getting lost in music, dancing, or art. Some people do better with moving meditations than sitting ones -- there is mindfulness walking, for instance. That said, kids can learn to do mindfulness also -- like breath awareness and eating meditations. http://tinyurl.com/nvnsydl get the whole family involved for best results.
