Water for infants: Healthy babies do not need extra water. Breast milk and/or formula provides all the fluids they need. Why do it: A newborn should have breast milk or formula. Both are giving all the necessary nutrients and calories. Both consist mostly of water anyway. Water will fill the baby and they will drink less formula or bm.
