It may be simple: Be cause it came suddenly and without mentioned trauma it is very likely muscular. Rest , analgesics such as Ibuprofen or Naproxen may be all that is needed. There are exercises that help strengthen back muscles and may prevent recurrence. If it becomes more severe or does not go away see your physician.
