FIRST OF ALL, : For how long now? How severe is it? Any numbness associated with the pain? Any trouble with bladder control or bowels? How old are you? Are you taking or have tried medication for the pain? Long and short, the more "yes" answers, the quicker you need seen, so if you can not get in to see your doctor, by all means please go to er or an urgent care facility.

Yes: Go for pain relief and than get a referral to an orthopedic spinal specialist . You will require an MRI and x-rays . Hopefully this will resolve in a couple weeks.

No Need for ER visit: See your pcp first. You may need to get an MRI to evaluate this spine pain and possibly evaluation from spine/pain specialist.
