Prozac (fluoxetine) side effects: Prozac (fluoxetine) has been around forover 20 years. It is one of the safer ssris. Dopamine depletion can be seen and usually manifests with apathy or a flat affect. I would check with your treating physician if you are experiencing side effects such has decreased libido or apathy. If you do not have symptoms, you may not ever get any. Be in contact with your treating doctor.

There are issues: I agree with dr. Lindenbaum about prozac's relative safety, but there are issues in some people. You may never experience any problem, and your doctor may have prescribed it appropriately (for moderate to severe depression). But some have had movement disorders or "tics" develop - which may or may not go away. You may want to read dr. Joseph glenmullen's well-researched book "prozac backlash.".
