Go to your MD.: This is known as a foreign body reaction. Your skin and surrounding tissue are actually able to wall off the foreign body. I would attend a dermatologist or general surgeon in order to simply numb the area locally and then remove the glass.

Podiatrist needed!: See your local podiatrist. Glass is radiolucent, which means it doesn't image on plain film x-rays. A soft tissue ultrasound of the area will show the glass reflecting the sound waves. Mri would be definitive for foreign body. Ultimately, it may need a surgical excision to remove it, especially after 7 months.
